Dec. 13—GREENWICH — The Salvation Army-Greenwich Service Unit needs help in order to reach this year's Red Kettle goal of $12,000. The drive officially ends on Dec. 24, but only about one third of the goal has been achieved so far.
According to Local Commander Janis Hunter, "Additional funds are needed to keep up with higher utility bills this winter and ever-increasing costs our clients face as they pay rent, buy groceries and put gas into their vehicles."
The theme for this year's drive is "Love Beyond Christmas," which reflects the need to provide assistance all year round, not just during the holidays.
