GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Jeff Janis and his wife, Alyssa, wanted to find out whether their first child was a boy or a girl before it was born, and the Green Bay Packers receiver came up with a creative way of doing it.
They found out the gender of their baby, which is due on April 16, when Janis, an avid hunter, fired a shot into an exploding canister filled colored powder. Blue for a boy. Pink for a girl.
When Janis fired the shot -- he was so nervous that he missed on his first attempt -- and the blue smoke filled the sky, they knew.
