After three straight seasons of crushing losses in the playoffs, Matt LaFleur and his coaching staff have to shoulder their share of the blame. There’s plenty of it to go around. From lack of adequate attention to special teams, to decisions on starting offensive linemen, to play calling in clutch situations. LaFleur himself is quick to take the heat, frequently pointing out the buck stops with him.
But if you’re going to saddle him with the blame, then you also need to give him the credit he and his staff are due for something that, in careful retrospect, is quite amazing.
