The Green Bay Packers got some bad news a day before their season finale against the Bears in Chicago: All Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari was lost for the season with a torn ACL. He will not be available for the playoffs this season.
But ironically, the last two times the Packers won the Super Bowl they also had to overcome injuries along their offensive line. And this year’s club has the depth and talent to overcome the loss of their best offensive lineman.
In 1996, left tackle was also an issue for the Packers. Veteran Ken Ruettgers started the season at the position but was injured and eventually had to retire.
