According to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, the New England Patriots are expected to finalize a deal with former Cleveland Browns offensive assistant Ashton Grant to be their new quarterback coach. Jones noted in his reporting that Grant had also interviewed for the Green Bay Packers’ open quarterback coach position. This is the first time we’ve heard 1) anyone associated with the job and 2) an outside candidate being considered.
When Tom Clements retired, the assumption was that head coach Matt LaFleur would simply promote someone in-house, as he has done for most of his offensive hires during his time in Green Bay.
