GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers will have a little bit more salary cap space this year than they anticipated.
But they aren’t alone.
ESPN reported that the NFL sent all 32 teams a memo Wednesday telling them they estimate the cap being between $277.5 million and $281.5 million.
Most estimates were that the 2024 salary cap of $255.4 million would increase about $15 million in ’25, but now teams can budget for a $22.5 million to $26.5 million increase in the limit they can spend this year
Using salary-cap numbers the NFL Players Association uses and not counting future charges such as re-signing exclusive-rights free agents, signing draft picks and paying practice-squad players, the Packers had about $37.
