Three years ago, in April 2014, the NFL held the draft in New York, where it has been held on 57 occasions since its beginning in 1936. While the draft had grown in popularity over the years, it was primarily attended by people from the metropolitan New York City area and attendance was limited to the capacity of Radio City Music Hall.
