The Houston Texans have sent off running back Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings in a trade, along with a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick, for a 2026 conditional sixth-round pick from Minnesota. Akers previously played for the Vikings in 2023, when a similar pick swap landed him in Minnesota via the Los Angeles Rams. Before going on the injured reserve for an Achilles injury, Akers recorded 38 carries for 138 yards and a score for Minnesota, as well as 11 receptions for 70 yards.
This season, Akers has been an injury replacement behind Joe Mixon.
