Pack can look to recent history for the path.
It’s too early to know for sure, but it would appear that the Green Bay Packers are going to start the 2022 football season without an established star receiver. Surely by September they will have added some mid-range veterans and draft picks, but barring a blockbuster trade for someone like DK Metcalf, which seems unlikely, the team will enter week one without a true “star” pass catcher.
If so, it will be the first time in 35 seasons. Not since Sterling Sharpe broke out as a first team all pro in 1989 have the Packers begun a campaign without one of the best receivers in the league.
