Nolan Cromwell spent 31 seasons as a player and assistant coach in the National Football League.
The former University of Kansas All-American "Wishbone" quarterback developed into a four-time Pro Bowl safety in 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams from 1977-'87 before beginning his coaching career with the Rams in 1991.
"I got to play a sport I truly loved and then coach in it," Cromwell, 60, said from his Seattle home Sunday evening.
"I had a passion to coach after my playing career and was fortunate to do it at the NFL level. I knew since I was young that I wanted to coach.
