In the three decades since former 49ers head coach Steve Mariucci became a Green Bay Packers season-ticket holder, the franchise has enjoyed unparalleled stability at the quarterback position.
Mariucci bypassed tens of thousands of eager fans on the season ticket waiting list when he became Brett Favre’s quarterbacks coach in 1992 and 30 years later, Favre’s replacement, Aaron Rodgers, is in his 14th season as Green Bay’s starting signal-caller.
“He’s amazing,” Mariucci said of Rodgers in an interview on KNBR Wednesday. “The league is in good shape with a lot of good quarterbacks, but he’s a cut above.
