"Pick a member of the Green Bay Packers who you thought of as indestructible," Milwaukee Journal columnist Michael Bauman wrote in late 1994. "Sterling Sharpe may not be the only answer, but he certainly is the most prominent one."

Sharpe has been a name on the lips of Packers fans around this time each season, when the NFL begins its machinations for the next Hall of Fame class.

Sharpe has reached the finalist stage for the Class of 2025, and he's in a pool of five former luminaries — including ex-Packers head coach Mike Holmgren — in consideration, from which three will be chosen.
