Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner's life is the focus of an upcoming Hollywood sports movie, "American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story." And, based on a first-look clip posted for the movie Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers have a supporting role.
Maybe a better term would be "rejecting" role.
Warner's story — as the star quarterback says in the clip posted by Lionsgate — has long been thought of as made for Hollywood. He was signed by the Packers in 1994 but was cut before the season started. For a while, he worked stocking shelves at an Iowa grocery store before he was signed by an Arena Football League team, the Iowa Barnstormers.
