Defensive lineman Quinton Dial, whom the 49ers released on Saturday, found a new home on Tuesday.

Dial, a four-year veteran, signed with the Green Bay Packers after visiting with coaches and club officials, a source told NBC Sports Bay Area. Another team wanted Dial to visit before he and the Packers reached a contract agreement.

Dial started 26 games for the 49ers over the past two seasons, but was not considered a good fit for the team’s new one-gap, 4-3 scheme under first-year defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. Dial originally came to the 49ers in 2013 as a fifth-round draft pick.
