Starting fast has been a goal of Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy's for several years now, and this season is no different.
But McCarthy's teams have started 1-2 each of the last three seasons, and in two of those cases it cost them home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
This year the Packers have a schedule built for a fast start — their biggest challenge will be a Week 2 game against Seattle — but as previous years have shown, nothing is guaranteed. The first six games of the schedule feature just one NFC North game and four Lambeau Field games, so anything less than 6-0 or 5-1 probably would be a disappointment.
