Roster Update: Packers release 2 players on Wednesday

In order to make room for the newly signed Chris Russell and Nate McCrary, the Green Bay Packers needed to make corresponding roster moves on Wednesday. Unfortunately, this meant the end of the road for former Wisconsin Badgers long snapper Peter Bowden and safety Tyler Coyle.

This is now Bowden’s second release of the summer after the Packers first moved on from him to make room for the signing of fourth-string quarterback Jacob Eason during Jordan Love’s hold-in. At this point, Matt Orzech, the only long snapper remaining on Green Bay’s roster, should be viewed as a virtual lock to make the team.
