Rodgers Marshals Another Lazarus-like Victory – Bye Week Awaits

The Packers were the victims of poor officiating in their Week 2 game against Minnesota when Clay Matthews was whistled for a phantom roughing the passer call on Kirk Cousins that ultimately allowed the Vikings to tie the game in regulation. Green Bay caught a break when Minnesota kicker Daniel Carlson forgot everything he ever learned about booting a ball through the uprights and was summarily pink slipped after the 29-29 overtime tie.

However, karma has a way of coming around and the bad juju the Packers experienced early in the season became a distant memory after a controversial illegal contact call on the 49ers’ Richard Sherman gave the Packers life with under a minute remaining in the game.
