Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel outlined exactly where the Green Bay Packers stand with the Jaire Alexander situation in a new article. According to Silverstein’s sources, the Packers were close to a trade of Alexander near the start of free agency — when we first heard that Alexander was placed on the trade block — but the deal fell through because of “the combination of the trade compensation and Alexander’s unwillingness to cut his salary.”
At least as it stands right now, teams don’t seem to really be interested in taking on the full $17.
