The Christine Michael experiment ended as abruptly as it began.
The Green Bay Packers claimed Michael on waivers from the Seattle Seahawks midway through last season after injuries decimated the running back room. Pairing with Ty Montgomery, Michael showed the Packers exactly what he has showed teams at every stop he has made across the NFL: flashes of tantalizing athleticism, massive inconsistency, and a couple of bone-headed mistakes that leave you scratching your head.
However, after Eddie Lacy left for Seattle in free agency, leaving the Packers with just Montgomery and Don Jackson at tailback, the Packers gave Michael a $25,000 signing bonus and a league-minimum base salary to return to Green Bay and compete for a roster spot.
