The Packers could be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland next season.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first broke the news of the Steelers’ international trip, and Noah Strackbein of Sports Illustrated contributed the additional nugget that their opponent will be your Green Bay Packers.
“According to a source, the Steelers are expected to play the Green Bay Packers in Ireland,” Strackbein wrote. “Pittsburgh would operate as the home team, while Green Bay would view it as an away matchup.”
The Steelers have been talking about the possibility of an international game for some time, and the franchise itself has significant connections to Ireland.
