GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers and one of their top veteran defenders are continuing to discuss his future with the franchise after months of trade rumors.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers and Jaire Alexander have had conversations in recent days about a possible resolution, but all options, including trading, releasing, or keeping him, remain a possibility after the team was unable to make a deal that included Alexander during last week’s NFL draft.
Alexander, 28, has been the subject of trade rumors since the Packers’ season ended back in February, but Green Bay used just one pick on a cornerback when they selected former Tulane defensive back Micah Robinson in the 7th round and signed former Raiders defensive back Nate Hobbs to a four-year deal during free agency earlier this offseason, so the Packers do still have roster space to keep Alexander if needed.
