The Green Bay Packers have yet to officially hire a quarterbacks coach to replace Luke Getsy, but an old friend of Aaron Rodgers is now expected to land the role for Matt LaFleur.
According to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, the Packers are expected to hire Tom Clements as the team’s new quarterbacks coach.
The name should sound familiar. Clements, 68, spent 12 seasons in Green Bay, including six as Rodgers’ quarterbacks coach. He was originally hired by Mike McCarthy in 2006 and later promoted by McCarthy to offensive coordinator in 2012.
