Mark Maske of the Washington Post was part of a group of reporters who sat down with NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell on Monday. The discussion Howell had with Post reporters and editors shows us just how serious the players’ side of the negotiation is taking the NFL’s offer to execute an 18-game regular season.
While Maske noted that Howell claimed the two sides are having “high-level discussions” but not “formal negotiations,” it’s clear this is one of the main issues that the players’ union is working on currently. According to Howell, the major questions — aside from financial compensation — are schedule-related.
