Report: Former Packers DC turns down job with Bengals

According to Alex Marvez of SiriusXM, the former Green Bay Packers' defensive coordinator turned down an offer to join the team on Wednesday.

Capers spent nine seasons in Green Bay and coached one of the league's top defenses during the first couple years of his tenure. However, the latter stretch saw his unit struggle, leaving the Packers to rank in the bottom-third of the league in various defensive categories.

The Packers parted ways with Capers last year after the 2017 season concluded and he spent the entirety of 2018 unemployed. They hired Mike Pettine as his successor, now preparing to coach for a second season with the Packers.
