Left tackle David Bakhtiari, who has been dealing with cartilage issues that stem from his 2020 ACL tear, is expected to be on schedule for a 2024 return, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Per Rapoport, Bakhtiari had “a positive follow-up exam” with Dr. Brian Cole, who is the chairman at both Rush University Medical Center and Oak Park Hospital.
Bakhtiari is currently a free agent after the Green Bay Packers released him with a failed physical designation earlier this offseason. Going into the new league year, Bakhtiari carried a cap hit north of $40 million after the team converted his season salaries into signing bonuses — pushing cap hits forward — several times.
