Sunday at a glance:
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Yes, his fourth-quarter interception handed the Green Bay Packers a golden opportunity to tie the game and possibly force overtime, but quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers played terrific football Sunday. Standing tall in the pocket behind an offensive line that yielded zero sacks, Newton completed 15 of 30 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns. He exploited a secondary that was without two important pieces and punished would-be tacklers with runs that helped move the chains. In addition to his passing totals, which featured two plays of 50 yards or more, Newton turned in 57 rushing yards and one touchdown.
