Redskins re-sign cornerback Will Blackmon to 2-year deal (The Associated Press)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Washington Redskins continued to stabilize their secondary by re-signing cornerback Will Blackmon.

Blackmon's agent, Peter J. Schaffer, confirmed in an email to The Associated Press that it's a two-year deal.

The nine-year veteran had two interceptions and forced three fumbles in 15 games for the Redskins last season, including 10 starts. He also made 49 tackles.

Blackmon, 31, played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and Green Bay Packers before signing with the Redskins prior to last season.

The 2016 season was a breakout showing for Blackmon, who had never made more than eight starts in a season and had just one interception in his NFL career.
