Green Bay — The National Football League's performance-based pay pool rewards players who outperformed their contracts based on production and playing time that far exceeded what they were paid.
The system saw to it that wide receiver James Jones was rewarded more than anyone else on the Green Bay Packers' roster, according to a source with access to the NFL Players' Association database. Jones received a bonus of $251,736.54.
Jones, 31, made a base salary of $870,000, which is the league minimum for a 10-year veteran. He signed a one-year deal with the Packers in September after spending training camp with the New York Giants.
