Step one for the Green Bay Packers this offseason is getting under the salary cap, where ever that might end up being. As of this moment, according to Over the Cap, Green Bay finds themselves $11.4 million above the projected salary cap.
However, as I discussed in a recent article for CheeseheadTV, there are additional expenses that have to be factored in as well. Some of which include contracts for the draft class and the practice squad, money for in-season spending, and of course, any free-agent additions.
When it comes to any free-agent additions, even with the rumors of interest in JJ Watt, expectations should be tempered.
