This column from Andy Thompson over at the Post-Crescent really resonated with me.
It seems that back in the Dark Days of Bart Starr and Forrest Gregg's coaching tenures, Thompson's father asked Andy and his siblings if any of them were interested in taking over the family's Packers season tickets.
From Thompson:
In the mid- to late-1980s, my dad mentioned — on numerous occasions — that he and mom weren't terribly interested in going to games anymore, but they wanted to keep the season tickets in the family. That was my cue to take over the payments and prepare for the transition in ownership.
