On Wednesday, the Carolina Panthers signed safety Rudy Ford, who started 15 games for the Green Bay Packers over the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Ford, who originally joined the Packers as a special teams player after cutdowns in 2022 via the Jacksonville Jaguars, was able to work his way into the starting lineup after Darnell Savage was benched for a period in 2022. In 2023, with Adrian Amos out of the picture, he started most of the Packers’ games.
With 86 NFL games and 21 starts under his belt over a four-franchise career, Ford — 30 — hopes to hang onto the 53-man roster of the team that went just 2-15 last year.
