GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A carbohydrate-heavy diet, plenty of water and one practice in Denver. That’s how the Green Bay Packers plan to prepare for 5,280 feet of elevation.
The Packers will load up the team charter plane a little earlier than usual on Saturday in advance of Sunday night’s game at the Denver Broncos so they can run through their final practice in the altitude of the Mile High City.
“Fact of the matter is, when you play in a high altitude, you burn more energy,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “We're going to need a lot of carbs and drink more water.
