Today is the last chance for several members of the Green Bay Packers’ 90-man roster to make a big impression on the team’s front office. In just a few days, general manager Brian Gutekunst and his staff will make a sweeping batch of roster cuts to trim the roster down to 53 players, and it is entirely likely that a few people currently on the team will never have another NFL job.
That’s why today is so important. Of the 37 players who get released, only 16 (maybe 17, with a roster exemption) will be able to come back to the team on the practice squad, leaving 20 or so looking for jobs.
