The Green Bay Packers aren't a bad team this season by any means. They've just been usurped at the top of the NFC North.
The 12-1 Detroit Lions are the NFL's hottest team, and the Packers are playing catch-up. They lost their second matchup of the season to the Lions on Thursday night, putting them three games out of the division lead and two games behind the Minnesota Vikings for second place.
There may be no catching up to Detroit in the standings, but the Packers would assuredly like a third crack at their rivals in the playoffs.
