Packers' Ty Montgomery gets the Richard Sherman roughing-kicker fine

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Ty Montgomery got the Richard Sherman treatment from the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers receiver/running back was fined $9,115 for roughing Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee in last Sunday’s game Lambeau Field. That’s the same fine that Sherman, the Seattle Seahawks cornerback, drew for his controversial hit on Buffalo Bills kicker Dan Carpenter on Monday night.

Unlike Sherman’s hit that came on a field goal attempt, Montgomery was flagged for a penalty on his play.

It happened early in the fourth quarter, when Montgomery made a diving attempt to block a McAfee punt.
