Training camp is young, but McCaffrey has made a solid start as he attempts to succeed in one of the Packers’ toughest positional battles.
Twelve wide receivers currently sit on the roster, but only six or seven will make it onto the 53. Three spots all but certainly belong to Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams and Randall Cobb, leaving the final three or four positions to the rest.
A month ago it might have been difficult to envision a scenario in which McCaffrey beats out the likes of Jeff Janis, Trevor Davis and this year’s draft picks DeAngelo Yancey and Malachi Dupre.
