The game, by some, was considered a boring affair. A 10-3 game doesn’t exactly scream fireworks. But a victory against a division rival is always sweet.
Matt LaFleur’s first win came off the strength of the defense. Yes, LaFleur was hired for his offensive prowess, but holding on to Mike Pettine was always viewed as a positive. And this game proved why.
For those on the side that it’s better to rest the starters in the preseason to avoid injury, should really look at this game. Plays where there, I repeat they were there. Holes were there for the running backs, wide receivers were open, but the execution wasn’t there.
