GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are set to host one of the 2025 NFL Draft’s top wide receivers for an official visit.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Bill Huber, former Texas Longhorn star wide receiver Matthew Golden will be meeting with the Packers this weekend for an official Top 30 visit, marking the team’s second meeting with Golden after the two sides first met during the NFL Combine in February.
The Packers have not drafted a wide receiver in the first round since they selected Javon Walker 20th overall back in 2002 but the two meetings with Golden, along with General Manager Brian Gutekunst attending Arizona Wide Receiver Tetairoa McMillan’s private workout earlier this month, show that the team may seriously be considering breaking that trend after they failed to work out a trade that would have brought a superstar veteran receiver like D.
