Packers thrill-seeker Jayrone Elliott rides at 220 mph with Mario Andretti

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Jayrone Elliott has had quite a week. And it’s only Wednesday.

The Green Bay Packers third-year outside linebacker – and resident Cleveland Cavaliers fan – was overjoyed to see his hometown NBA team win a championship on Sunday night. He watched Game 7 while taking part in the Packers’ annual Tailgate Tour, on which a handful of current and former players criss-cross the state on a goodwill bus tour and traveling pep rally.

But the team bus never topped out at 220 mph, the way Elliott’s ride did Wednesday morning, when Elliott rode in a two-person Indy Car with racing legend Mario Andretti in advance of this weekend’s Kohler Grand Prix at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
