Jaire Alexander’s bizarre season just got even weirder.
The Green Bay Packers suspended the 2-time Pro Bowl cornerback for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced Wednesday.
“The decision to suspend a player is never easy and not one we take lightly. Unfortunately, Jaire’s actions prior to the game in Carolina led us to take this step,” Gutekunst said.
The news comes after Alexander reportedly crashed the captains meeting at midfield before Sunday’s 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers despite not being named a captain.
Furthermore, according to ESPN, Alexander nearly cost the Packers a possession when he told referee Alex Kemp that the Packers wanted to start the game on defense instead of choosing to defer.
