Packers sign third running back to practice squad

Related Topics: Green Bay Packers, Chris Brooks

With tight end Messiah Swinson being signed off of the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad by the Carolina Panthers, the Packers had a vacancy on their roster on Tuesday. After practice, the team announced that they filled that void by signing running back Chris Brooks, recently of the Miami Dolphins.

Brooks spent four seasons at Cal before transferring to BYU in 2022. As an undrafted rookie last year, Brooks saw action in nine games for the Dolphins, leading to 19 carries that turned into 106 yards. Last week, Brooks was waived by Miami with an injury designation, which means he reverted to the injured reserve until the two sides reached an injury settlement for the concussion he was diagnosed with.
