The Green Bay Packers are dealing with a couple of injuries at the linebacker level right now. Starting middle linebacker Quay Walker dropped out of practice on Tuesday, another session that second-round rookie Edgerrin Cooper missed due to a groin injury. On top of that, third-round rookie Ty’Ron Hopper just returned to practice after missing the preseason opener with an ankle injury.
This left just Isaiah McDuffie, Eric Wilson, special teamer Kristian Welch, safety convert Christian Young and undrafted rookie Ralen Goforth as the team’s only healthy players in that unit. After practice, the Packers addressed this issue by reportedly signing Chris Russell, according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
