Packers sign Lane Taylor to three-year contract extension through 2020

The Green Bay Packers aren’t done making roster transactions on Labor Day weekend. However, the one decision announced today involves a player on the 53-man roster.

On Monday afternoon, the team announced that they had signed starting left guard Lane Taylor to a contract extension. Taylor was in the final year of his deal, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is now reporting that the contract is for three additional years and carries $16.5 million in additional compensation. This contract will keep him in Green Bay through the 2020 season.

Taylor stepped in for Josh Sitton in week one last season when the Packers released the veteran, and he solidified the left guard position throughout the season, missing just a few snaps.
