Ted Thompson isn’t officially out of the Green Bay Packers’ general manager chair just yet, and although that time is coming soon, he is still making plans to set the team up for the future.
On Wednesday, he took one of those steps by signing a practice squad player to a futures contract. That player is offensive lineman Kofi Amichia, whom Thompson selected as a sixth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Amichia spent the entire 2017 season on the practice squad, but this contract allows him to remain with the organization through the offseason.
