As the Green Bay Packers continue to move through the 2020 season below the NFL’s active roster limit of 53, the team has some opportunities to add when they see an intriguing player. On Tuesday, they have reportedly done just that, plucking a player from another team’s practice squad.
The Packers have signed linebacker James Burgess on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates, signing Burgess off the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad.
2020 is Burgess’ fifth in the NFL. As an undrafted rookie in 2016, he bounced around on five different teams’ practice squads before settling with the Cleveland Browns on a futures contract after the season.
