On Friday afternoon, the team announced that it has agreed to contract terms with safety Josh Jones. Jones, the 61st overall selection in the draft, was the Packers’ second pick.
The 6’2”, 220-pound Jones appears in line to play a significant, versatile role in the Packers’ defense as a rookie. In rookie minicamp practices two weeks ago, Jones was taking snaps at inside linebacker in addition to safety, his traditional position. He also played in the slot in college at North Carolina State.
As the 61st pick in the draft, Jones’ contract is expected to come in around $4.
