Packers shell out bonus money to Lane Taylor, Ahmad Brooks

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It was an expensive first week of the regular season for the Green Bay Packers.

They doled out nearly $7 million in signing-bonus money this week when they signed veteran outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks and extended the contract of starting left guard Lane Taylor.

Taylor’s three-year, $16 million extension (which is broken down below) contained a $5 million signing bonus. Brooks' one-year, $3.5 million deal (also broken down below) paid him $1.75 million up front.

The other contract they did this week, the one-year deal for veteran defensive tackle Quinton Dials, contained no bonus money.
