On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers got their roster back up to 90 players. On Tuesday, the team had to drop back to 89 after its latest addition couldn’t crack a physical exam.
General manager Brian Gutekunst put in a waiver claim for cornerback Derrick Jones on Sunday, scooping up the tall, lanky corner after his release by the New York Jets. Jones appeared set to join a Packers cornerback group that has a lot of youthful talent in the room, but apparently his body had other plans.
Instead, Jones showed back up on the waiver wire on Tuesday with a failed physical designation.
