GREEN BAY, Wis. —
With the 23rd pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Matthew Golden, a wide receiver from the University of Texas.
It's the first wide receiver taken by the Packers in the first round of the draft since 2002 — 23 years ago, the Packers selected Javon Walker in the first round.
It's a position the team needed to address at some point in the draft, especially with Christian Watson likely to miss most of, if not the entire, regular season after tearing his ACL last season.
