Packers see tackle-breaking ability as an elite trait for third-round pick Savion Williams

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst strongly believes Savon Williams -- the team's third-round pick in the 2025 draft -- has an elite trait entering the NFL: an ability to create with the ball in his hands at 6-3 and 222 pounds.

"His ability with the ball in his hands. His size, as well. He's a huge man," Gutekunst said Friday night. "His determination, his elusiveness, his power, his ability to break tackles. Those were the first things that stood out to you."

The tape and the stats back up the claim. According to Pro Football Focus, Williams forced 40 missed tackles on only 111 total touches in 2024 -- 18 after the catch and 22 as a runner.
